“SaveTheJFK.com Web Site Launched

SaveTheJFK.com is an online destination for all those interested in the legacy of President John F. Kennedy, and the recently retired USS John F. Kennedy CV-67 aircraft carrier that bears his name. Massachusetts native Paul Troxell formed The JFK CV-67 Memorial Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)(3) charitable corporation, with the sole purpose of saving the decommissioned “Big John” as a museum.  The SaveTheJFK.com web site invites former shipmates, Naval enthusiasts and the public at large to join the “Save The JFK Community” and express their opinions on message boards dedicated to either civilian or military conversations.  Additional features enable visitors to explore the history of both the ship and the man - and to become directly involved in this $50 million effort though their tax-free donations to “Save The JFK!”

Following in the footsteps of the successful San Diego Aircraft Carrier Museum (on pace to draw 950,000 visitors in this, its third year of operation), the Foundation foresees the resulting “John F. Kennedy Maritime Museum” to symbolize America’s Naval and Presidential heritage.  As a platform for education, community events, tourism, and corporate off-sites for meeting and convention groups as large as 4,000, the Foundation seeks community support to site the vessel in either Miami or Fort Lauderdale adjacent to the world’s #1 or #3 cruise ship departure terminals.

The JFK CV-67 Memorial Foundation, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation.
